Alor Corner Curry Mee (亚罗街咖喱面 ) @ Jalan Alor

During my work training at Jalan Alor, my boss told me he loves this Alor Corner Curry Mee. It is hard to ensure this stall opens or not as I have came here twice and it is close. I guess it is by luck and I was lucky for the third time. The name Alor Corner indeed the stall is located at the corner entrance of Alor street.

Alor Corner Curry Mee (1)

I guess all great hawker food in Alor only operates a few hours as this lady operates only after 2pm.

Alor Corner Curry Mee (2)

Preparation on the spot while me and another guy is waiting to be serve.

Alor Corner Curry Mee (3)

Chili is not for curry mee as they do sell other noodles.

Alor Corner Curry Mee (4)

Sitting over here is going to be very hot.

Alor Corner Curry Mee (5)

Here you go on my pippin hot Curry Noodle and I ordered extra for a side dish which is a mix homemade fish balls and pork balls.

Alor Corner Curry Mee (6)

Curry Noodle is filled with slice egg plant, chicken meat, fresh cockle, & taufupok. Creamy soup base with coconut milk which is slightly strong, after adding in the chili it tone down and pretty well balance. Not too spicy yet it is just nice. This bowl of noodle is just perfect as the owner use different noodle that give you a springy texture which is slightly harder than any yellow noodle yet chewy like spaghetti.

Alor Corner Curry Mee (7)

Alor Corner Curry Mee (8)

I am not a big fan of fish ball but whenI see home made, it is a must order for me. It is springy , fragrant with fish taste and I like my pork ball solid and chewy. A great bowl to order extra.

My total damage @ RM 12

Another place for lunch in Jalan Alor is this kopitiam known as Restaurant Beh Brothers. At night this kopitiam serve Thai “Dai Chow” and Bak Kut Teh. In the afternoon there are two stalls is well known to many lunch patrons which is the noodle shop in this coffee shop and also Indonesian Economy rice right behind it.

Beh Brothers (1)

Beh Brothers (2)

What I have been told that if you are at this stall, there are a few items that introduce by my colleague is, their Pork Noodle, Red Wine Mee Sua(which is their signature), Curry noodle and dry wan tan mee.

Beh Brothers (3)

Beh Brothers (4)

The Curry noodle presentation here is quite similiar to Alor Corner Curry Mee and the taste is quite different too. For this bowl, it is serve with fresh cockles, tau pok, pork skin and chicken meat where I chose Wan tan noodle as the base. Curry here is slightly watery, not too thick, chili paste add on the thickness of spicy where there is a little spices taste in it. Both of this stall have their own character. Love the wonton noodle as it have slight springy texture.  @ RM 9

Beh Brothers (5)

Beh Brothers (6)

Beh Brothers (7)

One of the Wan Ton Dry noodle which is their own version. Love this too as Springy noodle texture with mince meat gravy and their own version of BBQ pork. A simple dish yet satisfying.

Beh Brothers (8)

Beh Brothers (10)

Tried their instant pork noodle too, where plenty of pork ingredients in it, from liver, mince meat, pork meat, kidney and others. Instantly cook with their special broth, and top with pork lard. Soup is more on a clear side which is not too thick in flavour yet just right put my cravings to stop.

Beh Brothers (9)

This Stall which is the Indonesian Economy Rice is quite well known to many construction worker and staff around the area where there are alot of take away. Quite good too.

Fahrenheit 600 @ Publika

Fahrenheit 600 and a few other eateries in Publika is one of the longest standing outlet to be in this area, as I remember they were one of the first few to start operate in this block. Since then, this outlet is gaining its popularity over their pizza and some other Italian cuisine that they are offering, with that they have expended a coffee section too.

600 (1)

I have visited this outlet numerous times over the years as their quality and pricing is there.

600 (3)

600 (4)

fahrenheit 600 stands for their oven temperature and also found out that this outlet concept is inspired from US.

600 (5)

This is their Coffee section with some cakes available too.

600 (6)

600 (7)

Menu are pretty direct, ranging from All day Breakfast (which is a great bargain with their gigantic portion), signature pizza and pasta is pretty good too.

600 (8)

Tried their Wood Fired @ RM 23.90 – wood fired roasted of pumpkins, smoked duck, on the bed of in house garlic brioche, topped with 2 poached egg.Sprinkled with feta cheeze, and drizzled with balsamic reduction. Indeed its a hearty breakfast to hit off with. Simple, and spot on.

600 (9)

600 (10)

This portion I consider very generous as at the price of RM 24.90 with a serving that can be shared by 2 is their I Love NY. Oven Baked homemade chicken sausage, baked beans in tomato sauce, beef bacon, sauteed mushroom&  oven baked eggs  & Roasted sweet potatoes.

600 (11)

600 (12)

Their Calzone is another pretty well know item in this restaurant as we try out Spinach Ham @ RM 20.90 – Turkey Ham, Spinach, Caramelize Onions, cream cheeze & Cheese.

600 (13)

Love their latte too as it is a pretty strong coffee with tasting notes behind, where they do change their blend every now and then. It seems a lil robust to me where it is quite acceptable with a hint of acidity. Its a Brazilian and Mexican bean mix.

Somtimes when I am out of choices to eat and cravings for pizza, this is one of a place that I would turn to.

Recommended range: Any of their pizza & spaghetti (their new brunch menu is pretty good too)

Mercat (5)

We start off with this bottle of wine, from the recommendation of the waiter.

Mercat (6)

Follow by this “Kakak” whom just came back from Spain and her Spain fever is not yet over, so she wanted some Gin. I am impress the range of Gin that they have and will introduce you on the range they have and also to understand your palate so they can pair it better for you.

Mercat (7)

I do not know what she have picked as she refuse to tell me and this Gin is a killer. I am not a Gin drinker but it is good! The taste is not that strong, mild enough that you can taste the special gin along with a hint of strawberry sweetness, Just perfect.

Mercat (8)

Love this love this! I called it the Spain dumpling. Wrap and pan fried to perfection where it have a little crusty edge yet aromatic with their own seasoning. Berenjena – roast egg plant with goat cheese @ RM 17

Mercat (9)

Pulpo a Fiera  – Spanish Octopus at classical ‘a Faria’ Style @ RM 67. This is another great dish, where top with its perfect grill octopus, with a bed of mash and their special sweet gravy and with our wine is perfect!

Mercat (10)

One of the better Paella that I have come across. Cook to perfection where it is moist, yet can still get a little grainy effect on it. Aromatic from their own cook stock that they have added in.

It was a simple gathering for 3 of us that we usually do. Great food and great companion. It is not cheap, but one of the better ones that I have come across.

One of a famous Hong Kong street snacks is this Eggttes, or Gei Dan Jai (雞蛋仔) which is a must-have when you are in the country. I have always seen this kioks which is constantly pack with people since they were operating in Sunway Pyramid and now since they have another kiosk in Pavilion which is much lesser people, decided to give Eggette Lab a try.

eggette lab (1)

eggette lab (2)

They only have 5 machines, so waiting time is about 5-10 minutes as I have 5 more people infront of me.

eggette lab (3)

Since I am rather new and they have this special flavour which is 3 in one. Original, Chocolate and cheese.

eggette lab (4)

I am impress with the texture and colour upon receiving my Eggette Lab,  it smells awesome. Upon breaking it, it does have that little crack sound, and crusty edge and soft inside is what it taste like on the one I tried in Hong Kong (although lack of the bouncy texture). This is much of a better version too. Do not mind to go back for another round for their original.

One of my latest addiction which I found a simple street food right opposite my work office is this little peddler that selling Rojak in front of this low cost flat. It is just a stone throw away from Kuchai Lama Entrepreneur Park main entrance. I have been visiting this stall for at least once a week.

Pasembur (1)

Pasembur (2)

My usual order would be just Rojak and a bowl of cendol (that is filled with cendol, grass jelly, kidney beans and gula melaka.) Simple enough to constantly attract me for a simple tea time stopover.

Love their rojak as the gravy is slightly spicy yet taste a bit like rojak sauce yet it is not. Thick enough to keep sipping it and just that the gravy is in slight inconsistency.

There are 2 signature item that you must not miss in here is their Claypot Lou Shi Fun and their XO Fish Head Noodle.

restaurant goon wah (5)

IT is quite different compare to any other traditional Claypot lou shi fun that I have eaten. Pretty unique and I am loving it. Filled with bits and chunks of park lard, dried shrimp and with their special marinated mince meat. After you mince it all together, you will have an even taste. Texture of lou shi fun is slightly chewy to my liking, not too salty yet very fragrant. To make the taste extra punch, add in their special home made chili. It is spicy and pairs very well.

restaurant goon wah (6)

restaurant goon wah (7)

This is their in house specialty XO Fish Head Noodle . Serve in pippin hot claypot, filled with yam slices, milky soup base, fried fish head in it. A perfect bowl to start off with as their noodle is unique with it silky smooth texture yet slightly thinner than laksa noodle and light chewy. Soup base is like from a “tong dai” clear soup base with hint of sourness, milk flavour and flavour is just right.

End our meal with their Guinness chicken wings. Perfectly cooked and marinated where it is caramlise, fragrant and regreted did not order more. These are the 3 dishes that must order if you do come to this outlet. Our total bill is around RM 52.

It was a wet day yesterday, while walking back to carpark to pick up my car, my colleague told me this little black kiosk is a new player in this neighborhood and it seems they sell pretty good patisseries.  Then decided to check em out later in the afternoon. I must say, Le Petit Rococo is a new hidden gem in this busy street of TengKat Tong Sin that is run by this young chap from Tajkestan (another country that I just learnt yesterday), where only a month old.

Le petit Rococo (1)

Le petit Rococo (2)

Le petit Rococo (3)

This this little cafe only operate with 3 Ikea tables and 6 chairs. Do imagine the limitation of the seating area.

Le petit Rococo (4)

I am in love with their homemade Patisseries as was told is French style inspired cooking from their main kitchen down the road in a hotel.

Le petit Rococo (9)

Since it was a rainy day, I am in love with the cool breeze, sipping my coffee under this felt like heritage area (which is not), under this run down building and the moment is just perfect.

Le petit Rococo (11)

Ordered a large Scones @ RM 4.50 and Espresso to try on (the only drink he serve). Totally in love with the cutlery he used as there is a branding in it, with this pair of heavy gold fork and knife is indeed impressive! Scones is perfect to my linking where he use oven to head it up, where the outer layer is crispy on its crust yet soft inside. It is aromatic and with a little cut of butter to eat along and a sip of his espresso is PERFECTO!

Le petit Rococo (12)

Le petit Rococo (13)

Their coffee taste is quite different where for the first time I do not know how to describe as I am not really an espresso lover however this is quite acceptable for me. Since scones was good then decided to order another piece of his best seller which is Red Velvet (which I am not a big fan of it) since is his best seller and done in a loaf version, certainly it is unique.

Le petit Rococo (14)

One of the best Red Velvet that I have come across that it does make me confuse a bit, first it is being heated in an oven to make the outer layer crispy yet inside is so soft yet not too sweet, and enjoying every single bite of it.

Le petit Rococo (15)

Le petit Rococo (16)

Then the owner told me that this stall Le Petiti Rococo is actually to create awareness for the restaurant and he is pushing all his guest to his full scale restaurant, Rococo Cafe Restaurant that located down the road in Hotel Melange on the 7th floor. Certainly I am going to check them out!

Total Damage is RM 19

Le petit Rococo (17)

Friendly owner whom is from Tajikstan where I totally have not heard about this country and found out in Google.

map

facts from Google : Tajikistan is a Central Asian country bordering Afghanistan, China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. It’s known for its rugged mountains, which are popular for hiking and climbing. The Fann Mountains, near the national capital of Dushanbe, encompass snow-capped peaks that rise above 5,000 meters. Within the range is Iskanderkulsky Nature Refuge, a noted bird habitat whose namesake, Iskanderkul, is a turquoise lake formed by glaciers.

Great coffee place if you are looking for take away sandwich and also some patisseries.

Ippudo is back again with an enhancement in their new menu 2016 and what can you expect in this new menu, with this special highlight Ippudo’s first “Japanese Styled Mixed Ramen” called Mazesoba that comes with broth and gyoza at the side.

Ippudo (1)

Ippudo (2)

Ippudo (3)

The concept for Ippudo Bangsar Shopping Center is different compare to others where they highlight more on their cocktail series.

Ippudo (4)

Ippudo (5)

Start off with something light Mango Salad @ RM 29.50. Filled with diced mango served with assorted fresh greens and diced salmon tossed in light yuzu dressing. Love the dressing taste and generous mango in it.

Ippudo (6)

Fried Soft Shell Crab is another highlight for them. Crispy from inside and soft on the outside, with the steam bun.

Ippudo (7)

In love with this dish, Amaebi Tartar @ RM 34Diced fresh raw shrimp served with avocado and wasabi dressing topped with tobiko and seaweed. After serving, mixed the shrimp, avocado, tobiko with the wasabi dressing and wrapped then with the seaweed. Love the cripsy bite from seaweed and the well balance taste from their soy sauce and light airy avocado that pairs well with amaebi.

Ippudo (8)

Ippudo (9)

Chicken Namban @ RM 16Marinated deep fried chicken with vinegar sauce served with homemade tartar sauce on the side.

Ippudo (10)

Salmon Sushi Moriawase @ RM 446 pieces of salmon sushi platter, or I can call it 3 ways, that filled with salmon egg, sashimi and half cook salmon sushi..

Ippudo (11)

Here is a twist of flavour from Japan with our local taste. Seafood Foil Yaki @ RM 39.50Steamed mixed seafood mussels, shrimp, squids and scallops and assorted vegetables served with spicy ponzu sauce in foil on hot plate. The sauce is pack with flavour where giving you, spicy with cili padi and sourish after taste. Indeed it pairs very well with rice. Worth to give it a try.

Ippudo (12)

This is their new highlight – Mazesoba @ RM28.  Ippudo’s first “Japanese Styled Mixed Ramen” served with thick chewy noodles and 9 uniquely selected complimentary ingredients. The way to eat it is by Mixing it all together. Like the chewy texture of the noodle, just that I could not finish this personally where the sauce is slightly too thick for me, hence the gyoza soup at the side is to tone it down yet still think it is too much for me.

It is down to individual preference where some of them love it.

Ippudo (13)

Ippudo (14)

Ippudo (15)

Ippudo (16)

Watermelon Sherbet @ RM 19Homemade watermelon sherbet served with cheese cake and pineapple preserve.

For their latest menu, there is a slight twist in it. All down to your own preference. For something light, Mango Salad is good to kick start follow by Seafood Foil Yaki and Mazesoba.

Kum Kee Charcoal Roast Pork Restaurant @ Kuchai Lama

Heard about this place alot when I was still with my ex company and since working around this area, decided to come back to give it a try. Kum Kee Charcoal Roast Pork is actually famous for their roast pork in this neighborhood that operates in this Kedai Kopi & Makanan Mooi Mooi at Taman Continental or off Kuchai Lama. Now they have expended another lot with the red signage, with better seating capacity and cleaner.

Kum Kee (1)

I prefer the ambiance of Mooi Mooi coffee shop with my own perception that all those good Chicken rice or roast pork should be in old classic coffee shop settings.

Kum Kee (3)

When I reach at 12.30 pm, the place is already pack with hungry peeps.

Kum Kee (4)

Kum Kee (6)

The uncle see us take picture and he also took 2 slab his fresh roast pork for us to take picture. Cute uncle. 😀

Kum Kee (5)

Kum Kee (8)

Kum Kee (9)

Even though their rice is cook with some chicken oil, it lacks the fragrance that chicken rice need to have.

Kum Kee (10)

Their Char Siew is alright, where it is slightly caramelize. I had better one before at my own preference.

Kum Kee (11)

Kum Kee (12)

If you are here, best just to order their chicken and roast pork. chicken is juicy, moist and fragrant.

Kum Kee (14)

Kum Kee (15)

Love their roast pork where I ordered another plate to munch. Crispy skin where it is suppose to be, not too salty, yet the meat is soft and juicy to my liking with a little hint of saltiness from their soy sauce.

Kum Kee (17)

Just order Siew Yuk and chicken is good enough. Our Total bill came to RM 49.50 for 3 pax where I think it is quite decent.

Constantly I am here for my favourite bowl of Pippin hot Ah Tee Pan Mee and always curious on this shop EaThai Food which is just operating next to them. Till we decided to give them a try and found out that the chef is actually from Thailand and they are running Thai Food Dai Chow street style.

Eat Thai Food (1)

Eat Thai Food (2)

Menu is decent enough and we start ordering what our usual should be.

Eat Thai Food (3)

creamy Red curry is serve in a steam boat wok version where it is creamy enough yet curry is very flavourful and meat is cook to perfection. Indeed a perfect combination with a bowl of rice.

Eat Thai Food (4)

Next is of course Tom Yum seafood. Love the well balance of spicy, lime fresh sour end with little fragrant of seafood sweet taste.

Eat Thai Food (5)

Thai Sausage balls do give you the street style of version where it is chewy, fragrant and cracking with its skin that give you the burst flavour.

Eat Thai Food (6)

Grill lamb is another dish not to be miss where it is well marinated and dip with chef special chili sauce will make you sweat instantly.

Eat Thai Food (7)

Grilled squid is just normal

Eat Thai Food (8)

Fried Kang Kung that gives you the thai version where it is deep fried, till it is crispy. Great snacks if you have a bottle of Singha next to you, where the catch is another special sauce by the chef.

Eat Thai Food (9)

Eat Thai Food (10)

We ordered a fish which is catch of they day, that is similiar with our sweet and sour sauce but it is Thai version. Fried with chili, lots of fine chopped onions that gives you hint of sourness, and little spicy taste at the end.

This place is actually not bad if you are looking for Thai Dai Chow in KL. When we were there, quite number of Thai dinners are in there.

Botanica + Co @ The Verticals, Bangsar South

Last Sunday, I was introduce to this brand new place for super late lunch where the original intention was,to eat healthy. By the name of the restaurant,  Botanica + Co, Restaurant & Bar, attracted me with a perception that it is going to be a healthy joint. This restaurant is actually one of a new residence in this newly completed building at The Verticals, Bangsar South.

Bo + Co (2)

They are operating 2 different concept side by side where Botanica Deli serve sandwich, soup and coffee, as I will explore on that side of it where the menu looks pretty interesting.

Digging more info, this both outlet is actually lead by a Singaporean Chef.

Bo + Co (3)

Bo + Co (4)

In love with Botanica & Co interior design where they have both bar seating area and also normal dining area where they have 2 tress inside the outlet to make you feel like dining in a garden. Great place to hang out for coffee or a chat.

Bo + Co (5)

Bo + Co (6)

Bo + Co (7)

We kick off our late lunch with The Bo+Co Truffle Fries @ RM 24 – crispy USA shoe string fries tossed with truffle oil & grated Parmesan cheese. It smells good at first and however we were confuse after that where the fries tasted normal, and cheese is infuse with truffle oil, seems like they put it the other way round from the description.

Bo + Co (8)

Since we going to have Italian food the next day, so we decided to try out The Botanica Burger @ RM 36 – Home – made All beef patty, served with steak fries, mushroom ragout, melted Cheddar, mustard mayo, onion rings in a toasted bun.

Bo + Co (9)

Overall, we both find that they are rooms for improvement on the burger, where the meat is still abit lose as you can see that the meat is falling off, with description on the item did match my imagination such as onion rings in a toasted bun where my perception the onion rings will be inside the bun (or please pardon me on my understanding of English.). No doubht that the portion is quite genrous with thick patty but for RM 36, I sure do expect more where I think TGI/ Chili beats them easily.

Bo + Co (10)

Bo + Co (11)

With the onion rings are not perfectly cook, where the flour is still raw.

Bo + Co (12)

With 2 items are down from my expectation, and was curious why my soup is coming after those 2 dishes were serve only realise that my soup do have a puff pastries (where in the menu should put in takes 10-15 minutes). For their Slipper Lobster Bisque @ RM 20 – a creamy rich broth of slipper lobster and seafood with puff pastries on the top do smells amazing.

After slicing thru the puff, it has the nice aroma of buttery smell where it would have been more perfect to sit in the oven for about 2-4 minutes more to allow the inner parts of the pastries to form out better. After digging the soup out, I am totally impress with the silky smooth soup texture, where it is a huge bonus point. Love the aroma of it where it is pungent enough that you can taste the sweetness of both shell and seafood, creaminess of it hit right on the spot. This would stay one of my recommended soup to be in my list for Lobster bisque.

Bo + Co (13)

Bo + Co (14)

After disappointment of some dishes, we decided to try out their desserts. Looking at next table where they did not finish their cake where we believe is Banana Butter Scotch cake, we then try out their Mango Meringue Pie @ RM 16 & Rum and Raisins Milkshake @ RM 29

Bo + Co (15)

The mango meringue pie was a let down where the crust is too thick, and the mango puree had harden where it do not give you the fresh impression that I had in my mind. The good side is, their meringue is done to perfection where the smoothness and sweetness of it is top notch where the colour of it is burn to perfection.

For Rum & Raisin, the amount of Rum is quite prominent and for RM 29, I would  not mind to pay for cocktail as top up.

Bo + Co (16)

Oh well, I believe this restaurant is still rather new where they still do need time to improve. We also believe we order the wrong item in the menu where, most of other customers order their spaghetti and also realize that they are more well know for their salad.

Would advise, to ask the waiter recommendations. 🙂

Lucy Fried Pan Mee @ Happy Garden

I have drive pass this place numerous time and constantly ask why is there such a place in the housing area, only then found out that Lucy Fried Pan Mee actually is one of a hidden gem in this neighborhood (Happy Garden or the verge of Kuchai Lama) where they serve great Fried Pan Mee – quite a unique dish. If you are sick of modern food, then back to basic where this staple food will impress you. Used to cook by the mom where found out that she is ill at the moment and took over by her son.

Lucy Stall (1)

Lucy Stall (3)

Do have patience to wait for this uncle to cook as he might be slow where I suspect he have Parkinson Disease with his prominent symptoms – shaky hand.

Lucy Stall (4)

Their menu is in Chinese and I do not know how to read, so ask the uncle to introduce.

Lucy Stall (5)

Then we order their classic dish are both Pan Mee Soup and Fried Pan Mee.

Lucy Stall (7)

I am inlove with his texture of noodle which is so soft, slightly chewy and the texture is so smooth. By looking at the dough when he rolls it, knew that the noodle is gonna be amazing. Soup base is clear soup with mild flavoured broth that he cook in the morning to get the bones flavour out, and to make it sweet, he uses some Chinese Cabbage.

Lucy Stall (6)

Their fried version is their signature where is consider one of a pretty rare dish, with many perception that Pan mee have to be in soupy base. However their Fried Pan Mee is fried with wok hei, noodle is springy and sweet and saltiness from their dark soy sauce is well balance. Adding in anchovies to give you the crunchy salty taste. Best of all do add in their homemade chili. I added 2 into my noodle to give you extra kick of spiciness. AWESOME!

Lucy Stall (8)

According to the uncle best friend where he sat down with us and chit chat further, all the ingredients are bought fresh from the market in early morning, will then cook the broth fresh for a few hours till the aroma is out and only start operating from 10am – 3pm only.

For this place, if you like homecook version, this is certainly one of the place to be.

Total damage is RM 16 with 1 100 Plus.

Gravy Baby – Famous for Pies @ Taman Desa

Recently I have gone a bit haywire. Been hunting numerous cafe chain and one of the latest in the list is Gravy Baby that located in Taman Desa.  This place is nicely built up with Broadway type of lighting. It is hard not to notice them if you drive pass by.

Gravy Baby (1)

Found out that their chef used to work in British military club and there is a reason for all these massive interior built up. Golden ceiling and nice display counter sure do capture your attention and create a cozy feeling.

Gravy Baby (3)

Gravy Baby (4)

Gravy Baby (5)

Gravy Baby (6)

Gravy Baby (7)

In this whole concept, it does give me the feel of like those MV from Korea that makes you feel like you are directing it by seating like movie director chair with comfy cushion and marble table top.

Gravy Baby (2)

Gravy Baby (9)

Gravy Baby (10)

I am totally impress with their pie upon when they serve. Our first order is Gravy Baby Pie & Mash @ RM 26, there are 3 sides to choose two – Buttery Mash & Minty Musky peas. Pie we chose Slow Cooked Steak and Wild Mushroom is baked to perfection where adding herbs on the top with some gravy to add in the hint flavour of it, crust is just nice where it is not too thick that can be crack easily. Buttery mash is silky smooth and airy. In love with their Minty Musky peas, blend to its smooth texture with little bumper texture of peas with little cooling mint at the end is interesting. Eat it with all flavours at one bite is a great combination.  Great flavors combo and just on the steep side to pay for.

Gravy Baby (11)

Gravy Baby (12)

Pie & Gravy (with 3 sauce to choose 1) @ RM 20 – we have Lamb Shepherd pie as the the main follow by Original Meat Gravy to follow suit. The combination we chose because of the classiness of it where it do complements each other perfectly. Mash on the top is baked to slight crips yet not burn where it is still smooth and the best of it is their classic english sauce. Just by looking at the colour, where it is thick yet the flavour sure do lift the name meat gravy, pack with taste. .

Gravy Baby (13)

Gravy Baby (14)

The cakes display were tempting and I ordered Chocolate and Madagascan Vanilla Cheesecake – Sprinkle with cramelize nuts and ginger biscuit @ RM 19. Love how it is presented and the quality of ingredients that they are using to built this. Vanilla cheesecake is soft and airy that match well with the flavors.

Gravy Baby (15)

Gravy Baby (16)

Gravy Baby (17)

My colleague is in mood for a drink during tea time, she ordered Side Truck Cocktail @ RM 36 – our take on the Manhattan but twith a little more Va-VaVoom and served in a teapot – Bourbon, Shah Alam Hibiscus, Vermouth. For an afternoon drink, I think it is nice where the alcohol level is just nice with fruity end yet chill enough.

Gravy Baby (18)

Gravy Baby (19)

Before we leave, I have decided to order another cake to try on. Showtopping White Chocolate and Raspberry Sponge Cake @ RM 23 – generously layered with Mascarpone and Raspberry creme, Totally covered in white chocolate and topped with Juicy Raspberries .

Overall, this place is indeed a great place for pie, cakes or even tea if you are willing to pay slightly more than others. Felt that they use alot of quality ingredients and also the technique that they have put it in to justify on the prices. Worth to give it a try.
